Buenas tardes! October almost ended up, so it’s a high time for describing one of glam metal bands, choice fell on Giant.
Giant most-known line-up
- Dann Huff — lead vocals, guitar, keyboard
- Alan Pasqua — keyboards
- Mike Brignardello — bass
- David Huff — drums
Who, where and when & debut album
Band was set up in 1987 by Duff brothers: Dann (vocals and guitar) and David (drums), Alan Pasqua (keyboard) and Mike Brignardello (bass). According to wikipedia information, Duff brothers were concered on christian rock band White Tiger band.
When it comes to their first studio album – ‘Last of the Runaways‘ which was released in 1989, it achieved quite good attention (#80 on Billboard 200) mainly thanks to ‘I’ll See You In My Dreams‘ ballad (#20 on Billboard Hot 100), but album contained also another hits such as ‘Innocent Days‘.1
Giant – I’ll See You In My Dreams
Giant – I’m A Believer
Giant – Innocent Days
Giant – Time to Burn (1992)
The following album wasn’t so popular as its predecessor, maybe due to grunge popularity rise. Anyway, it contains my favourite song by Giant – ‘Stay‘. Shortly after release, Giant disbanded.
Giant – Stay
Giant – Time To Burn
Giant – Lost In Paradise
Giant – III (2001) & Giant – Promise Land (2010)
Band reunited in next decade and released next 2 studio albums, but similar to another glam metal bands, their success wasn’t repeated.
On the next album lead vocalist Dann Huff was replaced by Terry Brock and Alan Pasqua by John Roth.
Giant – You Will Be Be Mine
Giant – Promise Land
