10 Extreme Rare & Forgotten Glam Metal Songs
Oh, Christmas I don’t take kindly to this time, but I must prepare something special.
Maybe I should crop a few of this videos, but it could be a very difficult because I wondered about adding a new songs to this list, but my purpose was to show that lots of great glam metal bands played not only in US. and unfortunately most of them never gained mainstream popularity.
#1 Alien — Tears Don’t Put Out The Fire
‘Alien‘ band was formed in 1986 in Sweeden. Song comes from their debut album (1988) and was a big success in Sweeden, but song stayed unknown in US or UK.
#2 Icon — On Your Feet
Similar with previous song, “On Your Feet” comes from self-titled album released in 1984. Song was probably the biggest Icon song and became one of the most popular heavy metal anthems.
#3 Reckless — Hot And Ready
I like this song (video too), because it got very positive energy. This Canadian band is so unknown, that it even doesn’t have an article in wikipedia (wtf!).
#3a? Madame X – High In Highschool
Yeah! A history of this band is short, but I think that it’s worth attention — they released only one album: ‘We Reserve the Right (1984)‘.
#4 Brighton Rock — Can’t Wait For The Night
And the next Canadian Glam Metal band, ‘Brighton Rock‘ was founded in 1982 and they released in 1986 their first full-length album ‘Young, Wild and Free‘ which gained on popularity only in Canada.
#5 Treat — World Of Promises
Second band from Sweeden — ‘Treat‘ . Video is awesome! ‘World Of Promises‘ comes from ‘Dreamhunter‘ album released in 1987.
#6 Vinnie Vincent Invasion — Love Kills
Vinnie Vincent was a guitarist and author of a few KISS hit songs (eg. “I Love It Loud” and “I Still Love You“). After a short co-operation he was fired up and set up his own band and released two official albums including ‘All Systems Go (1988)’ with ‘Love Kills’ song which appeared on the ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master‘ soundtrack.
#7 Giuffria — Call To The Heart
‘Giuffria‘ was formed in 1982 by Gregg Giuffria. This power ballad comes from their self-titled debut album released in 1984 and it’s the most popular song produced by this band.
#8 Triumph — Never Say Never
‘Triumph‘ is probably the oldest band within all 11 bands here. Band was founded in 1975 in Canada and this song is the heaviest ‘ Triumph’ track.
‘Never Say Never’ comes from 9th studio ‘Surveillance‘ released on July, 1987.
#9 McAuley Schenker Group MSG — Anytime
‘McAuley Schenker Group‘ was founded as a ‘Michael Schenker Group‘ in 1979. ‘Anytime’ was recorded for ‘Save Yourself‘ album in 1989.
#10 Lionsheart — Die for Love
And the best video and song (in my humble opinion, )
This song is a black pearl — I couldn’t even find a lyrics for this song. ‘Lionheart‘ was founded in 1980 and they played for only 6 years, they’ve released only one album — ‘Hot Tonight‘ released in 1984.
I love this song!
